Will

One of my friends passed away this morning. Motorcycle accident. A deer jumped out in front of Will's motorcycle while he was driving home from his shop last night. I can't stop thinking about it, even though I know there's nothing I can do.

Will Engle was one heck of a guy. A tall, big, burly man that looked like a hardened wise-guy but had the personality of a squeezable honey bear. Will was a Navy veteran, motorcycle lover, creative business owner, and would always come say hello and give you a hug when he noticed you out in public.
(Will smirking at me from behind at one of my first pinup contests in Maryland.)
I met Will through my best friend, Sarah, sometime last year. He referred to Sarah as his "Fender Fluff" and took her on a motorcycle trip with his friends to Philadelphia. I remember asking him if he had any friends that would take me on the back of their bikes, he paused and said something like, "If you squish close to me, I can fit the both of you."

Will was always up to something hilarious. He ran a business, Veteran Graphics, and would print out funny stickers for every event that occurred in a 15 mile radius of Ocean City. I remember coming home from the bar one night after dinner and finding a "I Survived the Fishtales Closing Party" sticker across the shoulders of my jacket. Thanks, Will.

I hate saying this, but I'm glad that Will was doing something he loved when he passed. He was always on his motorcycle - he called her Desperado. Here's a picture of me on his bike last May. You can tell by my face that he was saying something mischievous to me while he took this picture.
Here's to you, Will. I know that you're in a better place. Your friends, family, and I will miss you dearly. Sarah and I will be waiting to squish on your 'cycle together in heaven.

Came across your blog while checking out loaded gun. Always a shame to suddenly lose a good guy, fellow rider & brother in arms. Sounds as Will has a sweet spot in your heart. Remember the good. Sorry for your loss. RPM4HIM
