May

Happy May! Can you believe that it's finally May? Where are the May flowers? The first weekend of this beautiful month was marvelous. The weather was divine; I had a charming houseguest, had lots of fun, and got a chance to relax, too. How about a weekend recap in photos?

Took the pups to Assateague National Seashore on Saturday morning. That handsome silver Weimaraner is Minx. He stayed with us for the weekend, too. I think he's officially Sandi Doodle's boyfriend. This was Minx's first trip to the beach and Bruce & I think he loved it! Two pups running free on the shore with two very happy owners.
We did some sightseeing. Jaws tried to eat us alive. Phew! Thank goodness we escaped that one.
Then we did some urban exploration. I took Bruce to the Charles Ewell House. He had to see this place. He shares the same name as the original owner of this home. Enough reasoning, right? We visited a few of my other favorite historic places this weekend, also. Nice to share my love for old abandoned houses with someone else for a change.
My amiable guest, and his foxy dog, left on Sunday. I did some work around the house, made some new Mermaid Jewelry and went thrift shopping. I picked up three beautiful vintage slips and a brooch at our local Goodwill and tried on so many more items. I was trying not to take all of the vintage goodies out of the store today. I'll let them there for someone else... but if this yellow dress is still there next time I visit -  She's coming home with me!
Stopped to take advantage of the beautiful weather at this serene field on my way home. Can't wait for the wildflowers to take over. They'll make for some killer pictures!
Right now, I'm trying to get a jump-start on this week's 'to do' list for work. Getting some writing done and out of the way so I can play in the sunshine this week.

I hope that you had a fantastic weekend and it was both jam-packed and relaxing! We did much more than what these pictures show over the past 3 days, but sometimes, it's good to just live it and not photo document every second. I've got to remember to put my camera down sometimes and just enjoy the moment. I like realizing that. It's easy when you've got a companion that keeps you distracted, too.

Not so sure what this week has in store for me! Have any big plans occuring during the first week of May?
