I'm on Vacation

I'm here. I'm still alive. Still breathing... but, I'm on vacation!

That is vacation if you refer to the word as meaning 'searching for a new place to live, applying for jobs, scheduling job interviews, and working from Starbucks'. Sounds magical, right? There are some upsides to this little get-away, too. Things like sleeping in late, visiting my parents, hanging out with my man, spending quality time with our dogs, and getting to know the city a bit better. It's just extremely nice to get away from my hectic job. It's also nice knowing that I have family occupying my house on the shore while I'm away so that my flowers won't die, my cat will be pampered and fed, and my little home won't get lonely.

I wanted to share some of these pictures from of these pictures with you. They're from a blog that I did for Amy Morby's blog party a few weeks ago. Amy had invited me to do a little guest post. This is what I chose to write about. I figured that since I'm not in Maryland to take my usualy pictures because I'm rushing around a city in Pennsylvania that it'd be the perfect time to share this story with my blog readers.
This house was built in 1875 and is astonishing. Beyond beautiful. Over the past year, I’ve bonded a lot with this old farm house. It’s one of those places I go to get away from the stresses of everyday life. I also let my little labradoodle, Sandi, run around the property. We're both quite free-spirted and the serenity I find while visiting this old house is unbelieveable.

This dilapidated beauty sits on over 300 acres of land and is for sale with a price tag of over $4-million. Yes, you read that correctly. Crazy, right? Apparently no one is in the market for a farm house that’s falling apart and is only 6 miles from the beach. Why can’t my bank account multiply by a few million?
While visiting this house last week, I wore one of my favorite outfits. A pretty vintage (1950’s) cotton skirt with a crinoline underneath purchased at Mommalicious, a basic tank from Forever 21, a thrifted leather skinny belt,  thrifted Jessica Simpson wedges that I picked up at Goodwill for only $6, and a round vintage basket bag from Hong Kong that I also picked up at a Goodwill in Delaware. I think this outfit cost me $40 total. One of my best scores to date (& also why it’s one of my favorites!).
I'll be trying to enjoy my few more days off of work. Please hope and pray that I find a real (good-paying) job and a place to live this week! It would make my life so much easier. Oh! & Happy August!
