Aloha

Aloha, my friends! You may have been wondering where I've been over the past few weeks. Seems as though I went missing in blog-world. Have no fear, I'm still here and still living in the moment. So... where have I been?

I can't even begin to tell you about the millions of thoughts rushing through my mind over the past few weeks. As most of you know - I've been searching for a new job for months. A new job. A new place to live. A new, refreshing way of life. Most of you also know that I've been struggling, as many other people have, to even find a job. A seemingly endless job search in Maryland and Pennsylvania has led me to a new option. Moving far, far away.
More than 8,000 miles away! I've been packing up my belongings all week long, arranging my flight, house and job searching... in Hawaii! I'm leaving for the beautiful island of Oahu this weekend! Can you believe it?

I will be staying with an incredibly generous, handsome young man, interviewing at a few different businesses, diving for seashells to make jewelry with, running the white-sand beaches with Sandi in no time. Yes, Sandi is coming with me. She's going to stay with my parents in Pennsylvania for a few weeks until I get my living situation figured out and then she's coming to meet me on the island.

The only thing that I seem to be struggling with is packing my things. I'm only taking my surfboard bag (filled with 2 of my boards), a large suitcase, my carry-on suitcase, and my backpack. I hate leaving some of my favorite, beloved, things behind. For now, I'll just be taking the neccesities and if things go well and I plan to stay put for a while, I'll have my furniture and the rest of my collections shipped over... and my car and Slater, too. Can you imagine trying to fit your life in two suitcases?

Yes, things are quite chaotic right now. It seems as though I've got a sense of serenity coming over me through all of this. Kind of like it's something that I need to do. Just pack up and go. Go and see what I can make happen. I've got a great support system through all of this, too. My parents, Tim, and my close friends are all stoked for me.
Just wanted to keep you in the loop. I guess I'll be searching for new things to blog about on the islands! Perhaps vintage Hawaiian thrift shopping will be rad! I guess I'll find out and do lots of new exciting blog posts about my adventures. Wish me luck!
