Things look a little strange around Little Miss Lovely
Things look a little strange around Little Miss Lovely, don’t they? They most certainly do. I’ve been a little M.IA. the past few months. Really, I’ve been holding down the fort and trying to batten down the hatches. Little Miss Lovely is in for a wild ride!
This little blog started as a way for me to deliver some of the things I love to a wider audience. For the past 2 years, I’ve been sharing vintage fashions, abandoned house tours, DIY projects, and other random things that I enjoy with you, my blog friends. After spending some time evaluating this form of free speech, gathering ideas, becoming inspired, and mustering up some inspiration – I’ve decided to totally and completely re-do Little Miss Lovely.
Since October I’ve been working for an internet marketingand advertising firm while writing full-time for an online magazine. Seeing as I’m on the interweb for 8-hours a day, 5 days a week and can write about so many of the things I enjoy on Shorebread, my blog has really be placed on a backburner. I want this blog to be my creative outlet, not just a place I go to post silly things.
Last Friday, I signed a contract to be a vendor at BorrowedEvent; a wedding show for the creative ‘I do’ held in Baltimore, MD on April 1st, 2012.
What? A wedding show? Really? Yes. Really. For real, for real.
I’ve been collecting vintage wares for years now. My closets are spilling, my garage (my shed, my parents garage, their barn, their shed) are overflowing with antique furniture, my heart is bursting with love for the wedding industry, and my brain is telling me that this is a chance that I don’t want to miss out on. So… I’m doing it.
I’m changing the focus of Little Miss Lovely to weddings. Weddings. Weddings. Weddings. I think about them all the time. I have several friends in the business whom I adore and look up to that have offered great advice, fruitful opportunities, and so much inspiration that it’s hard to contain. I’m not getting married (yet), I just believe that weddings are romantic, spiritual, a blessing, and embody more than just the uniting of two souls. They’re powerful. I want to feel the power and love that come from two people joining together for life.
What’s this mean for Little Miss Lovely? It means that this goofy Blogger blog (p.s. these 'dynamic' blog templates suck) is being transferred to Wordpress. It means that I’m in the process of making a real website instead of just a blog. It means that my Etsystore is going to be re-hauled and be redesigned and restocked with my lovely vintage pieces and handmade wedding accessories. It means that I’m going to be sharing my favorite wedding ideas and trends. It means that I’ll be styling glamorous photoshoots that feature beautiful retro pieces and eco-friendly, natural elements.
It means that I can breathe a little easier and chase after something that I really enjoy.
Are you ready? Just sit back and watch this whole process happen. It will be worth every second. Cheers to new beginnings and an endless flow of creativity!
Enjoy checking out this pretty photoshoot I styled for Shorebread. The article shares some details and the gallery shows off some of my beautiful friends, a few vintage wedding dresses from my collection, stellar decorations, and other kinds of creative wedding ideas. Yeah! I'm excited.
