As soon as I received a wedding inquiry form from Caitlin, I knew that I had to have her as a client! Her initial email was filled with vivid descriptions of romantic ideas, garden-style arrangements, a killer loosely-styled backdrop, and bouquets of greenery. The best part? Caitlin is a wedding photography who lives and works on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She knew exactly how to make my job easier by laying out all of her ideas in a neatly written Google Doc filled with images and sending me Google Maps of exact delivery locations. Dream bride!
As a wedding professional, I lust after cloudy, grey days for weddings... the skies are just filled with such romance, moodiness, and offer some of the best lighting for portraits. Caitlin and will really lucked out by having a perfectly grey, misty wedding day -- there were even rays of gold sunlight trying to break through the clouds!

Caitlin & Will's wedding took place in a space above Town Hall in the coastal village of Onancock, VA. Never having been to Onancock before, I was completely in awe of the old buildings and charming homes that line the town's quaint streets. The ceremony space perfectly matched the vintage-like feel of everything Caitlin had described in her emails to me.
Guests were greeted by the girls from Girl Friday Event Management at the entrance to Town Hall and then were directed up a flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs, an antique artillery box filled with fresh flowers gave the guests a glimpse of what lie ahead. Around the corner was a large antique mirror draped with fresh flowers and accompanied by a large fern that instructed guests to head up another flight of stairs. At the top, a sign saying "HART: established 2015" welcomed everyone to the ceremony space. It was like a little trail of flower arrangements leading everyone through a maze of stairs in a fun historic building.

A table was stocked with refreshments and silver bowls filled with Virginia peanuts and other assorted nuts... what's a Virginia wedding without roasted nuts??
Rows of mismatched antique chairs faced a wall of windows centered by a cascading arrangement of greenery that served as a focal point during the couple's ceremony. An antique candelabra was draped with fresh greenery and peach-colored florals. An array of brass candlestick holders, tapered white candles, pillars & glassware fanned around the front of the room. Candles in mercury glass containers marked the aisle.
Look at how romantic the scene looked during the ceremony! I was checking Caitlin & Will's hashtag on Instagram nonstop to see if their friends and family had posted photos from the event... I stole this photo from Caitlin's IG feed. Gorgeous!
