Help create dresses for underprivileged children! Over the past year, a group of local women have been meeting to sew dresses, made from pillowcases, for little girls in Africa, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and those in the United State affected by Hurricane Sandy. This month, you can join in!
Meet at Zia’s Italian Grill in Salisbury, MD (2408 N. Salisbury Boulevard – just across the intersection from the Salisbury Mall) on Friday, January 25th at 11 am. Anyone interested in making dresses or willing to help package the dresses can help. Invite your friends; the more, the better!
On New Year’s Day, dresses created by local Brownie Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts were packed for shipment to East Timor (a tiny little island south of Indonesia and just north of Australia). The always caring and always loving, Barbara, will have photos of the girls from East Timor wearing their hand-made pillowcase dresses by the January 25th get together.
Please bring any finished dresses to this meeting and Barbara will be sure to have them sent out. You can create ‘pillow case sewing kits’ and drop them off, too. If you have any questions or are interested in participating, just shoot me an email: ami@littlemisslovelyvintage.com.
Hope to see you there!
