365-Challenge: A Photo A Day

It’s the time of year when resolutions are made and we promise to take part in new activities. What are your New Year’s resolutions? In an attempt improve my photography skills, I've decided that I’m going to take part in a 365-challenge. One of my favorite bloggers, Elsie, recently wrote on her blog, A Beautiful Mess, about attempting a 365-challenge so she could put together a photography book at the end of 2013 – filled with photos of her new home. I’m going to attempt to take my camera everywhere and capture as much as 2013 as I can. It seems that over the years my little iPhone has become glued to me and because of convenience, I often prefer snapping photos with my mobile camera instead of my nice DSLR. I’m hoping to change that. I love my fancy camera and want it to become an extension my personal visions. I’m hoping this 365-challenge forces me to be more creative. I plan on trying new lighting techniques, get bendy and shoot from new angles, use some colorful filters, and try editing tricks I haven’t experimented with yet. I’m hoping that the skills I learn will help my photography hobby grow a little bit. Follow along with my 365-challenge on Little Miss Lovely. You can follow via the blog, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! I always feel quite vain taking photos of myself but I do like having a consistent subject - all thanks to my remote controlled shutter release. There are a few suggestions of things to photograph; yourself, food, pets, your home, your family, everyday objects, scenery, etc. The list could go on forever. Have you ever tried a 365-challenge? I’d like to hear about what you photographed or if you plan to start one this year! Good luck! Ami
