art league home tour: the mariner home

I was honored when I found out that I had been selected to be a part of the 9^th annual Sand Castle Home Tour lead by the Ocean City Art League. Each year, 10 individuals/couples/families open the doors of their homes to the public. The ‘go at your own pace’ tour offers a spectacular array of coastal homes of any style you can imagine. Little Miss Lovely was asked to decorate the Mariner home located in South Point. Their home is of the Colonial style and is filled with beautiful, meticulously curated antique furniture of the same period. I put together several flower arrangements in Colonial-themed colors (deep red, butter cream, pink heather, teal, dark green, and light rose) and showcased the pieces inside of vintage and antique vessels. Mrs. Mariner had told me that she would love to see an arrangement inside of her antique punch bowl. If I can remember correctly, she told me that the bowl dated back to the late 17^th century and was hand-made by an artisan in Colonia Williamsburg. Her collection of antique china and ceramics is incredible. I was humbled to see one of my arrangements placed inside of a vessel so beautiful.
