Each and every time I have a bridal inquiring come through my inbox, I get super stinkin' excited... but this wedding... I've been beyond excited about for months and months. Caitlin was introduced to me from one of my best friends, Emily. Cait and Em have known each other since they were 5 years old and their relationship is incredible. They share my mutual love for Hanson, breaking into song randomly, and loving anything sparkly and pretty. I had absolutely no doubts that Caitlin's wedding would be one of the prettiest, most feminine, and glitzy that I have done thus far in my floral career... and it was.
I started collecting intricate lace, ribbons, rhinestone pins months before the wedding. The flower arrangements were composed of soft peaches, deep corals, light orange, and white florals. Every flower was sprayed with silver glitter. I painted more than a dozen mason jars and coated them in silver sparkles. Long ribbons hung from every bouquet and arrangement. Babies breath was everywhere. The bride's bouquet included live succulents and a giant lotus pod. Each of the groomsmen boutonnieres featured tiny little lotus pods, too.
Caitlin & Corey's wedding was held at the
Country Barn in Lancaster, PA. The couple was married in front of a big, red historic farm home. The reception took place in the upper room of a big, historic yellow barn.
The ceremony aisle was lined with sparkling mason jars filled with babies breath and queen anne's lace. Colorful ribbons dangled in the wind... Until the rain started! 5 minutes before the bridal party was to walk down the aisle - it started raining - all after a hot, sunny day! Caitlin, her bridesmaids & her parents huddled inside peeking out the windows as the rain fell and the guests ran to hide from the rain. Only a few minutes later, everything cleared up, the venue staff rushed to dry off the seats, and the wedding was back in action.
The couple wrote and exchanged their own vows, a huge group of birds flew overhead, the sun peaked brightly through the clouds, and everyone cheered as the Ponte's walked down the aisle.
The barn reception was stunning! What a beautiful location! The mason jars from the ceremony aisle were re purposed, filled with candles, and used to line the staircase outside of the barn. The cocktail tables featured glittery jars filled with blush flowers. The cake table had a towering flower arrangement and was covered in matching rose petals. The sweetheart table looked perfect with a huge cascading flower arrangement, a fabric rosette wreath covered in matching flowers, and a table skirt made of ribbons. Each table had a centerpiece made of delicate babies breath.
Congratulations on your wedding, Caitlin & Corey! I love you guys - for real! I had the best time at your wedding and can't wait to see you again! Happy honeymooning... drink a pina colada (or two) for me!
