Jessica and Dan are two of the most-spirited and happy people I have ever encountered! It only makes sense that they have found each other in this crazy world because they are absolutely perfect for each other... and I can tell just from hanging out with them a few times, exchanging emails, and enjoying their wedding day with them. Absolutely perfect for one another.
I am so happy that I was able to help bring their wedding visions to life! It isn't every day that I get a wedding consultation form filled by a couple wanting to get married at
Seacrets, but when I saw that email come through, I knew I had to help them spiff up Jamaica USA. I'm not sure that many of Little Miss Lovely's followers know this or not, but I work at Seacrets as a cocktail waitress in addition to running this floral business. It's crazy hectic and I always fly by the seat of my pants during my shifts on and in the bay!
With that being said, I've seen many weddings take place at Seacrets and have always thought about what I would do differently if I were to help with a wedding on the sandy bayside beaches. Jessica and Dan's wedding was my opportunity to deck out the beach and make it look like no other florist/designer had ever done before. With Jessica and Dan's visions and help - the place looked like a foreign tropical retreat!
With a color scheme of blues, teals, yellows & white the place really lit up. Tropical greens, orchids of all types, and hot-weather blooms were perfectly paired with all of the tropical foliage already in place at Seacrets.
Jessica's bouquet consisted of white peonies, yellow lilies, gardenia, stock, roses, alstroemeria & greens. It smelled like Heaven! Her bouquet was wrapped in a green monstera leaf and ivory ribbon and accented with a sparkly seashell charm and rhinestone pins.
Dan's boutonniere was stunning! Yellow freesia and funky yellow oncidium orchids tied with a thin yellow ribbon. The yellow flowers matched the yellow in his bride's bouquet perfectly.
The bridesmaids carried bouquets of tropical greens, yellow lilies, fancy large yellow mums, white roses, and white stock. Each bouquet was wrapped in teal-blue ribbon.
The groom choose to have two special ladies stand behind him as his 'best ladies'. They carried these full pomander balls tied with ivory and teal ribbon. After the ceremony, these balls were hung on black shepherd hooks flanking the cake table.
The groomsmen wore boutonniere of green orchids, yellow billy balls & oncidium orchids. Each bout was wrapped in a thin green leaf and tied with blue ribbon.
The mother of the bride and groom each pinned corsages onto their ensembles. Their pin corsages featured fresh white freesia, a bulbous poppy pod, and a single yellow oncidium orchid. The corsages were wrapped in pretty yellow and white chevron ribbon.
The father's pinned bouts featured yellow billy balls, yellow freesia & oncidium orchids. The pinned bouts were tied with teal-blue ribbon.
Two little ring bearers wore clip boutonnieres featuring green orchids and a green trick dianthus plume.
The ceremony officiant even wore a yellow freesia boutonniere.
To compliment her bouquet, the bride wore a fresh white gardenia (paired with a few orchid heads) in her hair.
To dress up the scenery, I created large sprays of tropical palm leaves, monstera leaves, yellow gladiolus & yellow lilies to hang on the trees. Tissue paper pom poms were incorporated into the sprays... a cost-efficient way to add color and some fun! The sprays were adhered to select palm trees and flowing white linens were hung beneath.
The tissue paper pom poms in the palm tree sprays paired perfectly with the Chinese lanterns strewn from clear cafe lights between the trees. The paper products tied everything together and created just the cohesiveness the bride and groom had hoped for.
The yellow Peruvian lily centerpieces looked fantastic on the reception table tops and matched the tiered cupcake display perfectly!
Cupcakes in Bloom did a fantastic job with the floral designs on the cupcakes!
Green trick dianthus clusters marked with orchid stems, lilies & yellow solidago were placed in vases filled with beach sand. The centerpieces were all marked with teal, yellow or ivory ribbons.
The table linens were so pretty. They had a shimmer to them that glistened nicely in the sunshine. Clear class marbles and plastic rhinestones were placed in the bottoms of the yellow centerpieces. Blue glass marbles and small green orchid heads were tossed on the tables around the centerpieces.
The couple had a guestbook table, favor table, and plenty of goodies (including neon sunglasses with their names on each lens!) for all of their guests to enjoy.
Both the bride and the groom's families went out of their way to make sure everything was set up and in place before the bride arrived (via boat!). The bride's father even hand-delivered the bridal party's flowers to them.
Thank you, Dan & Jessica, for allowing me to be a part of your special day! I'm in love with how your flowers turned out and how amazing your wedding looked. Seacrets has never seen a wedding so well-done before! I'm so happy that I was able to meet up with you two for a drink after your reception! You guys are incredible.
