Last Saturday's weather and traffic jams couldn't keep this wedding from being absolutely stunning. I am so happy to have been a part of Jaime and Tommy's wedding day -- a day filled with nothing but pure love.
Jaime is a sunflower lover. All of the sunflowers used in Jaime and Tommy's wedding flowers were cut straight from a field in the groom's backyard. Talk about awesome, right? The sunflower field is massive and was planted to be used as a backdrop for the couples wedding ceremony.
A few days before the wedding, I crept into the sunflower field with my mother and snipped more than 150 sunflowers from their stalks. The homegrown flowers were used in the bride's bouquet, carried by her beautiful bridesmaids, mothers & grandmothers, placed on grandfathers, and used for the reception centerpieces.
To balance things out - baby's breath was introduced and mixed with lots of lush greenery. The couple chose a mint, ivory & burlap scheme to unite their special day.
The bride's bouquet was a mixture of sunflowers, baby's breath, seeded eucalyptus, plumosa ferns and millet grass. Jaime's bouquet was wrapped in a piece of burlap, ivory lace, and a mint green ribbon. A vintage brooch was pinned to the stem wrap as a keepsake for the bride.
Boutonnieres of mini sunflowers, clusters of baby's breath, and airy fern leafs were pinned to the grandfathers of the bride and groom.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at a family home. The space was transformed with a huge white tent, lines of seating for the ceremony and so many flowers. Shepherds hooks of baby's breath lined the ceremony aisle.
Inside the reception tent, large gold glittery table numbers placed in mason jars overflowing with baby's breath let guests know where they were to be seated.
Smaller square tables featured black lanterns surrounded by greenery and sunflower heads as centerpieces.
Long, narrow tables were lined with strands of garland. A tall arrangement of sunflowers and baby's breath were placed in the center of each table and flanked by mason jars of baby's breath. Sunflower heads were placed amongst the greenery. The mason jars filled with flowers looked so sweet next to the masons designated as drinking glasses.
The bride and groom's sweetheart table was placed next to the dance floor in the center of the tent. A large, over-flowing arrangement hung over the edge of the small round table.
