Historic St. Martin's Church is such a classic, history-filled, regal setting for a wedding. I was super excited to decorate this church for Hayley and Carey this past weekend.
Hayley's vision for their wedding included lots of baby's breath, pastel pink, peach, ivory & gold. She wanted wood slices, burlap and ivory lace -- perfect ingredients for a rustic October wedding on the Shore.
Historic St. Martin's Church was decorated nicely. There were gold mason jars filled with baby's breath hanging from gold shepherd's hooks
Two wreaths (made from local pin needles painted gold) covered in plums fern and baby's breath with rose accents hung from the gigantic red double doors of the church.
The alter arrangement was huge and beautiful. I used an antique egg basket to hold the alter flowers. The symbolism behind using egg baskets for alter arrangements can be traced back to the Colonial times. Eggs symbolize rebirth, a new life, and fertility... things every new couple hopes to carry throughout their relationship together.
The reception took place at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club. Guests were greeted by a hand-made chalkboard with the night's events listed in pretty handwriting. One of the church wreaths was hung on the wreath hanger after the ceremony. A wooden crate for cards was placed in front of a garland of the couple's Instagram photos.
There were details everywhere and so many neat things to see! This couple didn't overlook any details.
The groom made a really neat standing panel backdrop for their sweetheart table. It was covered in brown craft paper with cute sayings and quotes written in white chalk. I created a plumosa fern and baby's breath garland to drape over the backdrop.
The guest's tables were covered in pale pink linens with white lines over top. A lace and burlap runner was centered with a mason jar flower arrangement, a wood slice & glittery table numbers and candle holders.
Vintage-style keys, burlap rosettes, canvas flowers & lace accents were added to the mason jars to continue with the couple's rustic and elegant theme.
Hayley & Carey had one of the prettiest cake displays I've ever seen! How awesome is this tassel backdrop?? The wedding cake and cupcakes were baked and set up by Miss Patti Cake of Snow Hill, Maryland. The bride and groom created the wood slice displays. A mason jar full of flowers looked perfect next to the gorgeous cupcakes and backdrop.
Congratulations, Hayley & Carey!!!
