I may have gone overboard with photos from Caitlin & Greg's wedding this past weekend -- but can you blame me? I mean, how often do you find yourself placing flower arrangements underneath a giant raptor / dinosaur skeleton?? The flower arrangements for this wedding were a perfect mix of odd autumnal blooms. With a color scheme of deep red, dark purple & burnt orange, I found the most rich blend of flowers that I could find in any shape and size. I love how textural the arrangements and bouquets turned out. The bride's bouquet was gorgeous. A combinations of huge orchids, dahlias, calla lilies, roses, mums, pincushions from Hawaii, tulips, tight peony heads, rosemary & a few twigs were used to make the bouquet. The stems were wrapped in ivory silk and antique lace. A vintage rhinestone pin was added to the stem wrap. The bridesmaids carried bouquets that featured more red flowers than the bride's mostly orange and purple bouquet. Their bouquets were wrapped in a variety of deep red and ribbons. The bright Fall colors looked so neat against the girls' dark dresses. The groom wore a boutonniere that featured a sprig of rosemary, a dried wheat plume, a deep red spray rose, an orchid & dahlia bloom. His groomsmen wore boutonnieres of dried wheat, thistle that was tinted orange, and single red spray roses. The officiant wore a pin corsage of a tight peony head and dahlia bloom. The ring bearer wore a smaller boutonniere of wheat and a single red spray rose.   The fathers of the bride and groom wore ivory spray rose boutonnieres. The mother of the groom wore a wrist corsage made of ivory spray roses and a stunning orchid bloom.   The couple's ceremony took place inside of the Maryland Science Center. The ceremony space overlooked Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The panoramic view of the colorful foliage against the Baltimore skyline was stunning. An ivory aisle runner covered in ivory and orange rose petals lead the way through 22 rows of chairs and towards the alter. Two large urns were filled with tall flower arrangements and placed upon pedestal tables covered in greenery. A small table with hand-made lace tablecloths was used for the couples beer tasting unity ceremony. Neat idea, right? 22 mason jars filled with orange, red, and purple flowers with greenery hung from ivory lace along the aisle. Candles were placed every-other row along the walkway. The cocktail hour took place upstairs at the Science Center. Small cocktail tables were marked by the cutest little centerpieces. Arrangements in solid shades of red, orange & purple were placed inside of 4" cylindrical glasses vases. The reception was held on the lower level of the Maryland Science Center... right under the raptor skeleton and next to the huge dinosaur exhibit. So awesome. The couple incorporated their table numbers and favors around the dinosaur theme. Cartoon-like drawings of dinosaurs were framed and placed on each table. There were three variations of centerpieces: a few tall vases with tiny pumpkins in the base and floral arrangement tops, a few large cylindrical vases filled with flowers, and the rest were medium-sized square vases overflowing with florals. I loved seeing the array of centerpieces span the reception space. The arrangements paired perfectly with the linens. Baltimore Cakery did fantastic job with the wedding cake! I created a tall cake topper to place upon the 4-tiered cake and placed a few floral heads and greenery on each layer. The red and purple icing was sparkly and looked so pretty underneath the museum lighting. Congratulations, Caitlin & Greg! It was a pleasure working with you.
