Audrey and Will may be one of the cutest, sweetest couples I have worked with to date. The few times that I met with them to plan and discuss their wedding flowers, it was a joy. These two were so easy to talk to, had so many different ideas, and trusted me with their wedding flowers... This combination made them the perfect clients.
Audrey and Will were married last Saturday at the
Indian River Life-Saving Station in the Delaware Seashore State Park. It is such a neat venue and I can't wait to see how amazing the professional photos turned out. There are great photo opportunities around every corner of the Life-Saving Station.
The couple decided upon a grayish-purple, lavender and ivory color scheme. They wanted things to be shabby chic and beach elegant. Sounds awesome already, doesn't it?
The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies, garden roses, hydrangea, a few purple roses, and fresh lavender. The stems of her bouquet were wrapped in burlap and accented with a crocheted lace ribbon. Several charms, provided by the bride's loving parents, were pinned to the stem wrap and featured photos of loved ones who had passed but who's memory wanted to be honored during Audrey and Will's wedding ceremony.
The maid of honor and bridesmaid bouquets featured more splashes of purple than the brides bouquet. They were the traditionally shaped, hand tied, and the perfect size for a spring beach wedding.
The adorable flower girls carried small fireside baskets lined in burlap. A bunch of dried lavender was placed in each basket for the girls to carry down the aisle.
The groom and his groomsmen wore boutonnieres made of white ranunculus, lavender, baby's breath & fern sprigs. The bouts were tightly wrapped in twine and pinned with pearls.
More than two-dozen glass milk bottles were wrapped in crocheted lace and filled with the prettiest assortment of flowers. During our initial consultation, Audrey mentioned that she loved "this green, fuzzy, poofy ball flower". I immediately new that she was talking about Green Trick Dianthus. We incorporated this dianthus variety into the centerpieces. A blend of lavender stock, lavender, white roses, white peonies and baby's breath filled the jugs. A spray of dried salt grass and curly willow branches added height to the pieces.
