I adored everything about Heather & Scott's wedding day. Heather was a bride who had thought of everything... and was willing to cover herself in glitter to make her visions become reality. Scott was a helpful groom, present in the planning process, who wanted his future-wife to have everything she could ever want and deserve. During the few interactions with these two that I experienced throughout their wedding planning process, I knew that their wedding day would be stunning... and that they were perfect for each other.
Heather is so eager and so willing. She is one of those individuals who works hard, volunteers often, offers her talents to her friends and family and will go the extra mile without even needing to be asked. I am so happy that I was able to help with her wedding day and so happy that she has brought into my life. Heather, you are truly loved by so many and are such a inspiration to all who meet you. <3
Heather & Scott's wedding took place at the historic
Poplar Hill Mansion in Salisbury, Maryland. The mansion was built in 1805 and is one of my favorite venues on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
The bride chose to carry a traditional-shaped, rounded bouquet composed of white and pale pink peonies, peach garden roses, grey quicksand roses, peachy hypericum berries, peach stock, and trailing ivy. The bouquet stems were wrapped in gold ribbon. Pale pink pearls and a tiny silver charm (a gift from a Curator at the Poplar Hill Mansion) were also placed on the bouquet's stem wrap.
Heather's maid of honor carried a smaller bouquet of like flowers. Her bouquet was wrapped in vintage linen ribbon.
Scott wore a boutonniere made of pink ranunculus and ivy leaves. A pale pink pearl from the same strand of pearls featured on his bride's bouquet was added to his bout. His boutonniere matched his pink bow tie perfectly.
The best man and family members wore boutonnieres of ivory ranunculus & greenery.
Wrist corsages of white ranunculus and pink larkspur matched nicely and complimented the boutonnieres and bouquets.
The couple's ceremony took place outside in the veranda of the mansion. Antique chairs complimented the venue's historic nature.
Mason jars filled with peach, pink & ivory blooms hung from glittery gold ribbon on gold shepherd's hooks along the aisle. Ivory rose petals lined the aisle, as well.
My favorite floral piece from this wedding... a gorgeous bicycle decked out with a beautiful, large basket brimming with fresh flowers. Heather and Scott share a love for bicycling and included several bicycle-related details in their wedding plans.
This was one of the most original (and most entertaining) ceremony pieces I have ever created. I love how it turned out!
How adorable are these cupcakes? One of Heather's close friends baked and decorated these cupcakes, cut out the tandem bicycle picks, and created the glittery cupcake wrappers (with liners made of literature... the groom works for the local public library!).
Loose heads from billowing peonies, roses and ranunculus were lightly placed atop the couple's wedding cake at the base of vintage-inspired Pez dispensers.
The 'tea room' at the mansion was used as a dining area during the reception. Mason jars of fresh flowers, matching those there were outside during the ceremony, were placed atop wood slices and used as centerpieces.
Congratulations, Heather & Scott! I had the best time setting up your wedding on Saturday and loved following all of the shenanigans on Instagram and Facebook! I can't wait to see you two again. Congrats!
