Rehearsals before a wedding ceremony are always a good idea. They help get any kinks out of a schedule of events, perfect the precession, and set the tone of the wedding day for all involved.
Rehearsal dinners on the eve of a wedding are a good idea, too! What a better way to ease some tension, get everyone together and have fun before the wedding day preparation ensue the next morning?
When it comes to rehearsal dinners, guests generally include the soon-to-be-newlyweds, their bridal party and close family members. The couple generally uses the rehearsal dinner as a way to thank all of their closest loved ones for supporting their relationship and for helping with wedding preparations.
In Ocean City, there are plenty of great restaurants and venues where you could hold a rehearsal dinner. Why not choose a restaurant where you can have some fun, Maryland-style? A crab feast in OC is a fantastic idea for those getting married in the Ocean City area! Hooper’s Crab House in West Ocean City offers the perfect space for large parties, events, and rehearsal dinners.
Recently, I provided a few centerpieces for a rehearsal dinner display at Hooper’s Crab House along side local wedding coordinator, Alison to the Altar.
Alison set the tables with red and white checkered place mats, some tropical green palm leaves, table numbers, and fun pineapples to add some playfulness to place settings. Each guest was to be seated in front of coordinating gold crab shells with their names nicely written in calligraphy. Hooper’s Crab House provided Crab Seasoning favors as well as wooden mallets. The centerpieces were neat dish gardens built inside of vintage crystal bowls. Each dish garden featured sand, succulents, tropical foliage, seashells and small pieces of drift wood. The dish gardens make great gifts for Mother-of-the-Bride and Mother-of-the-Groom after the dinner.
Dana Marie Photography captured the tablescape and surrounding dining area perfectly. I love the idea of having a photographer present at a rehearsal dinner to snap a few photos of your with your family and loved ones in a relaxed setting. You can never have too many photos… especially ones with a bay-side backdrop.
