Carey Road

Two things I love and adore? Abandoned, delapidated, old buildings and finding beautiful vintage items on the cheap at a thrift store. You probably already knew that though seeing as that's what my little blog is all about. I combined these two things during this little photoshoot on Carey Road earlier this week. I've been working on my photo editing and graphic design skills lately. Can't you tell by the above picture? So much fun. This enticing grey building is nestled on the corner of Carey Road and Old Worcester Highway. It used to be a general store that many...

A Walk on the Wild Side

Last week I had a handsome visitor staying with me for a few days. It was beyond enjoyable. That Mr. I've been hanging out with so frequently really knows how to make a girl feel special and cared for. Anyways, I'll stop sharing my fondness for this gentleman on my blog (at least for now). On one sunny afternoon, after spending all morning on the beach, we made an impromtu trip to the Salisbury Zoo.I've been wanting to visit this zoo ever since I claimed the Eastern Shore as my residence. The Salisbury Zoo is a free zoo that was...

The Champ

That's me walking the tracks on the 'west shore' of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA last Saturday evening. I had plans to venture to New York City for the weekend to participate in the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, but plans changed a few days before departure. Kid PA, a band made of some of my charming male friends, was asked to play a show with the legendary, politically inspired, punk rock band known as Anti-Flag. I couldn't say no. I needed to support these band boys that I adore so much. Before the guys went into the Championship to set...

James Buchanan's House

President James Buchanan called Lancaster, PA home. Since 1936, this beautiful house in Lancaster has been preserved and considered an American Landmark. James Buchanan was the 15th President of the US - in case you were wondering. The home, which is now open for daily tours and 19th-century reenactments, is practically living history. These adorable little ladies actually dress up in period-type clothing and give you a tour of the interior while educating you on the history of Buchanan and why he called Lancaster home.I stopped by the property and took some photos quickly. The Lancaster Historical Society is located...

Parsons 'Barber Shop'

What a whirlwind of a day! I had some other blog posts scheduled for today but I was so excited about this one, that it became tonight's priority. I went to my office this morning, did lots of work, had a lunch meeting, left work, walked to the jewelry store, spent lots of money at the jewelry store (on a well-deserved diamond & sapphire ring that's beautiful), took over $200 in my old clothes to our local consignment store (to help justify my shiny new ring purchase), then went to Goodwill (because I felt great since I sold my old...
