About once a month, my gal friends & I get dressed up and go out dancing. It's one of my favorite things to do at one of our local watering holes. A few weeks ago, we enjoyed the live sounds of The Super Devils. Recently, a few of their members, known as The Garnet Hearts, played some killer rockabilly tunes for us to dance to.
As you can see (note the empty dance floor), no one really dances except for our little group of friends. I kind of like it. Most people just sit back and relax and watch my friends and I practice our dance moves. It's an inviting atmosphere where you'll never feel like anyone is making fun of you, either. Our guy friends still don't like to dance though. I think they're too worried about us showing them up or something. What is it with guys that don't dance? I'd love to know what it is that hold them back from busting a move.
This week, another great rockabilly/surf band, Full Blow Cherry, will take the little stage. Stoked to see them later this week! Tracy & I have been practicing our dance moves in my living room. We're going to break out a few new lindy steps that we made up. Wish us luck!
