I have always believed that dark, cloudy skies make for the neatest wedding backdrops and photographs filled with movement... Chelsey & Josh may have the best grey sky wedding photos, ever! Their September wedding took place on a super windy, grey, rainy day. The Ocean Pines Yacht Club provided the perfect setting for their exchange of vows and reception that turned into a giant dance party.
The couple and their guests braved the outdoor elements and decided to do a very sweet, short ceremony outside on the OP Yacht Club deck. The winds were gusting at 40 mph but that didn't stop them... it just made me reevaluate their floral backdrop. Everything looked beautiful and I can't wait to see how their professional photos by Douglas Fotografix turned out!
The bridesmaids wore light peach dresses and the groomsmen wore mint green vests. The peach and mint color scheme was carried into the decor. The centerpieces were tall and billowing. Hydrangeas (the bride's favorite flower) were mixed with baby's breath, peach and white roses, and other textural wedding classics. Candles were placed atop pearlescent pebbles in the base of each centerpiece. Twinkling candles inside of gold mercury glass votives added little shimmer to each table.
The cake table and sweetheart tables were decorated with huge tropical leaves. White lanterns with cascading florals sat atop wood slices on each accent table. The gorgeous cake display was created by Desserts by Rita.
