I have been looking forward to Alex & Brandon's wedding since the day Brandon proposed. My fingers were crossed that the two would choose Little Miss Lovely as their wedding florist... Only a few weeks later, I received an email from Alex asking if I was available on their wedding date. She also sent me a link to her 'Dream Wedding' Pinterest page. I clicked the link and scrolled through all 3,000 pins on her wedding page! She had been planning this wedding for years and knew exactly what she wanted. I was beyond excited to help bring this couple's wedding vision to life. This past weekend, the 1840s Plaza was dressed to the nines for Alex & Brandon's wedding. The location was the perfect setting for a romantic autumn wedding. There was a main, unifying trend that carried throughout the floral arrangements... greenery. Alex had wanted lots of lush, textural greenery in her bouquets, boutonnieres & arrangements. I used 20 different varieties of greens in their floral pieces. The greens were combined with garden roses, anemones, dahlias, hydrangea, snapdragons & spray roses. Alex's bouquet was a less-traditional, garden-style bouquet billowing with ferns. Olive branches, with the olives still hanging, made a statement paired next to pale porcelain berries and large blooms. Alex had the most stylish bridesmaids ever. Her girls carried bouquets of greens accented with white hydrangea, earl grey roses, and ivory dahlias. The groom, groomsmen and fathers wore boutonnieres created with greens, lissy & anemones. The centerpieces were extraordinary. More than 70 arrangements were placed throughout the ballroom at the Plaza. Each arrangement was created in a vase, stacked atop a brass candle holder, or inside of an antique dessert dish that the bride and groom had collected in the months leading up to their wedding. The cake, baked and decorated by one of Alex's talented bridesmaids - Sara, was even decked out in fresh flowers.
