10 Things I Love

1.) Anthropologie has picked up this fantastic line of eco-friendly mixed-media furniture pieces, Swarm. Not one is exactly alike. I think each of the unique betties are pretty neat. 2.) These wedges are k-i-l-l-i-n-g me. Beautiful wooden heels by Casadei. You can purchase them here for only $890. Yikes. I hate saying this, but if anyone spots some high quality knock-offs, think of me and buy them please! 3.) Lots of great new and colorful portraits featured on Ruffled, an awesome wedding-oriented blog. I like checking it out for fun do-it-yourself projects. 4.) This curved baseboard/headboard set is the bee's knees. It...

300+ Acres

I'm up to my normal snooping again. I love prodding around fantastic old properties. As I was driving to go look at a house to purchase, I saw a sign that said "300+ Acres for Sale" and looked down the sand lane. I pulled a U-turn and immediately found myself driving down the lane to see what was at the other end. This beauty waited. After doing some research I found out that this farm house was built in 1875 and has been unoccupied for several years. At least since 1989-1990 based on the evidence that was openly waiting for me...

Off the beaten path

Found this awesome, serene, spot on my daily hike with Sandi today. We were walking through the nature preserve when I spotted these 2 fallen trees a few yards off the beaten path. (Momma long legs & her big white dog.) I also found these while we were walking. The whole skeleton was (almost) in tact. I think these cool little vertebrae bones and jagged teeth are from a raccoon. I snagged them to add to my collection of "strange oddities found while hiking". I keep all kinds of weird findings in a glass jar as souvenirs.Sandi is such...

Charles Ewell House

I just sent a message to my friend Bruce that read, "I went through an abandoned historic home today called the Charles Ewell House. Built circa 1800. Federal style. Please tell me you're related so we can scoop this house up and save it?" Bruce's last name just happens to be the same name as the original owner of this home. I'm sure that they're not related, but one can only hope. I can't wait to see what he replies.I did my research and found out this house is the only real home in the area with any significant age. It's so sophisticated for being from...

Sinepuxent Bay

Large bodies of water always look spectacular at sunset. Look at the colors I saw in the sky tonight. I took Sandi to the shore of the Sinepuxent Bay to relax for a little tonight after a long day of working hard in the office. I got a lot of writing and organizational work done today. My brain is kind of fried at the moment from using a thesaurus, conjugating verbs, and forming sentences for more than 5 hours in front of my computer. It's all good though, just one look at these waters and I'm cured (at least for a little). Hope you had yourself...
