Dinosaur Rock

More trail hiking in Mount Gretna, PA. I just can't get enough. This gorgeous trail leads to this... Dinosaur Rock.. Dinosaur Rock was formed millions of years ago by shifting plates on the earth's surface... yadda yadda yadda. You know just as much about the formation of the earth as I do, if not more. For obvious reasons, this spot has truly earned its name. My dad used to take my sister and me hiking through the woods to check out this 'dinosaur' quite often when we were younger. I'm still as amazed by this rock formation now as I...

Governor Dick

Governor Dick is the name of a 66-foot lookout tower in the tiny town of Mount Gretna, PA. It's also only 8 miles from my parent’s home. Governor Dick is one of those places that you just have to see at least once... or in my case as many times as possible. The 1105 acre park was named after a man named Dick in the mid-1800's. History says that Dick was a lumberman and charcoal burner in the Mount Gretna area. Because Dick was so well known in the community, his friends called him 'Governor'. Governor Dick cleared the trees from...

Little Elk Creek Beehive

While heading north west to central Pennsylvania from the eastern shore of Maryland this caught my eye...There are 3 of these stone buildings in a row right on the bank of Elk Creek in Fairhill, MD. This cluster of buildings is known as “the beehive”. The beehive buildings were built by stonemasons around 1720-1730. So old! These buildings are known as an early industrial complex. Compare them to today’s industrial complexes? Geesh. Times sure have changed. Apparently, the Fairhill area used to be swarmed with commercial activity. These buildings are currently being preserved by the Elk Creek Area Preservation Society and the...

Shoe Lust

I'm obsessing over heels right now! Doesn't it always seem like when you're trying to save money for something big that you see the cutest things for sale that you'd love to purchase? It figures. I keep reminding myself that I'm trying to buy a house in the near future and already have enough pairs of cute shoes. Here are some pairs I've been drooling over lately...1.) Betsey Johnson black and gold wedges. (Source.) 2.) Teal and pink polka dots with glittery apple... you're melting my heart. (Source.) 3.) Pretty camel colored wedges. (Source.) 4.) Sometimes I think I only...

My Mini-Vacation has Begun

After a full week of stressing out over work-related subjects, relationship concerns, and minuscule things like...-Losing my mailbox key in the interior of my car's center console. Thankfully I'm pretty handy with taking things apart (& apparently really good at dropping keys in places they should never go) and my friend, Greg, is really good at dealing with girls who have butterfingers. Greg graciously helped me finished tearing apart my car, used a hook to fish my lost key out of a tiny crevice (how it got in such a small place we'll never know), and helped me piece my...
