Last weekend was prom at our local high school, Stephen Decatur High. I spent the Friday morning wire-tieing, gluing and pinning corsages and boutonnieres together for prom-attendees. Each and every corsage and bout that left my studio was one-of-a-kind and featured some sort of fancy accent. This week, I had the honor of creating a few centerpieces for a luncheon at The Atlantic Hotel in historic Berlin, MD. Each centerpiece was placed in a white ceramic crock and consisted of purple, white and yellow flowers. A textured array of hydrangea, solidago, peruvian lilies, eucalyptus, stock, ferns and roses looked gorgeous together... especially in the stunning ballroom of the Atlantic Hotel. The ballroom smelled sweet and fragrant after I placed each centerpiece in the middle of the simply dressed table.
