Electric Beach

(A live purple starfish!) Everyone likes some crazy underwater pictures taken with a cheesy cheap underwater camera from the pharmacy, don't you think? My lovely tour guide, Tim, took me snorkeling at this little local spot known as Electric Beach while in Hawaii.Tim works for a fishing charter and dive boat operation. He'd come home from work day after day and tell me about how he had to rescue people from this spot. Electric beach seemed less than appealing and quite dangerous to me, yet he insisted that I go. (Hawaiian green sea turtle) I'm glad that I did. For real....

Abandoned

Just a few more snapshots of a few abandoned buildings on the North Shore of Hawaii. I have no idea what any of these pretties were used for or why they're abandoned, but they sure were nice to photograph. That little chicken wanted his picture taken, too. Hope you're Monday wasn't too rough. Cheers to this week flying by!

Koko Head

The hardest, most difficult, most sweaty hike of my entire life! & I hike all the time!Maybe it was tough because it was 87 degrees outside at 1:00 pm. Maybe it was tough because we hiked Diamond Head earlier that morning. Maybe it was because Koko Head is over a mile long hike straight uphil on an old railway track! North Shore

I don't really have much to say about this post... other than the North Shore of Hawaii is to die for!Such a beautiful surf-inspired community.I just wanted to share some photos of my favorite things in Hale'iwa, at Sunset Beach, and at Pipeline. I'm still in shock that I got to go out in the waters at these beach breaks. The waves, water, and currents are humbling. (These trees turn yellow seasonally! Almost like fall in the tropics.) (The infamous North Shore bridge.) (Sunset Beach) (The Volcom surf house.) (Palm from downed Palm trees everywhere. Seacrets' 'hat mon' would have...

Diamond Head

Diamond Head. A place every tourist to the island of Oahu must visit on their trip. Checked that one off of the list! Just east of Waikiki, Diamond Head is a dormant volcano. The giant tuff cone that lines to old volcano is, for sure, something to see.The 3/4 mile hike up the mountain takes you past several lookout spots, old World War II bunkers, and an observation platform from 1908. You can't forget about the 74 stairs, the giant dark tunnel through the hill, 99 more stairs, and 30 stairs in a spiral staircase. Once at the top, you can see...
