Did you know that the monarch butterflies are in migration? Right this second there are thousands of big orange butterflies fluttering across the country. The monarchs flock (is that word only used for geese?) to Mexico as soon as the cold begins to set in on the east coast. A huge journey for a tiny creature!Word around town was that the butterflies were invading! Not just one or two, but so many that you had to watch where you stepped while walking out of the grocery store because you might squash a few butterflies. My neighbor came over 3 days...
(photo © Frank Fleming Photography) Last weekend was a whirlwind! Lots of fun & lots of dancing. Perhaps my favorite night of dancing thus far. Yes, I just dared to say that. These pictures speak for themselves...Dancing at the Steer Inn is always the best when you go with a big group of your friends. After yesterday's Rods & Rockers event everyone went home, changed outfits, and headed back to the bar to spin and twirl the night away... with pretty high heels! Full Blown Cherry provided outstanding live Rockabilly music. Full Blown Cherry is one of my favorite bands...
(My dad & I with his most current build, a '68 Harley Davidson) One of my most favorite things to do is get dolled up, go to a classic car show, mingle, take pictures, and hang out with my friends and family. Sounds like a good time, don't you think? I'm lucky enough to live in a place where these kind of shows happen all the time. Remember Rods & Rockers? Well, that show happens twice a year - during early spring and early fall. Last Saturday, the fall car show took place. What a stellar event! I wore some of...
It's October 11th! Insane. I will be 25 in 4 days! How has my birthday snuck up so quickly without me even knowing it?! I have no plans. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Maybe I'm in denial because I'm going to be 25 and have a to-do list that seems to be longer than the Nile River... Come on quarter-life accomplishments, I've been working my butt off for you.October is my favorite month. Other than marking my birth, October is filled with rad things - Halloween (my favorite holiday!), the need for stylish new warmer clothing, colorful leaves, hazy full moons, crisp chilly...
(Thrifted that pretty vintage chenille bedspread while visiting my parents last week... only $12.50!) It feels so good to be home! I've been back at my own home for two days after not seeing it since I left for Hawaii. My house feels beyond energizing. It's like breath of fresh air every time I walk in the front door and realize that I'm back in my element.I immediately ran up to my giant, plush bed and sank into my down comforter and smelled my clean pillows. They were just as I remembered them. Sandi found a bone in her toy...
