Tattoo Tuesday

For years I have thought about getting a mermaid tattoo. It wasn't until recently that I thought, "Why not?" and my mother said, "I knew you'd have one on your body sooner or later." I'm a little in love with mermaids and have been ever since I can remember.Yesterday was the day. James Delzel, from Independent Tattoo, helped create a one-of-a-kind mermaid with my direction. It took a few weeks, some last minute changes, and lots of mental preparation for this pretty lady to go on my ribs.James is a friend of mine and I wouldn't want anyone else working...

Thrifting like a Chicagoan

I didn't get to go to any of the sweet vintage stores that I had looked up before I left for my trip to Chicago... but I did however score big at a little church thrift store in the suburb of Addison. We spotted the store from the street, parked quickly, and started digging. We only arrived about 20 minutes before closing. Luckily, I'm a thrifting expert. ;)Ashley didn't buy those gaudy dishes, and I didn't buy that gigantic fan, but we had fun playing. The hutch below was fabulous! What I Wore: Little Red Dress

You know that you've got a great friend when she offers to let your borrow a vintage dress that belonged to one of her family members. That's how I acquired this adorable little red dress. One of my best friends, Cassie, let me borrow this fancy little vintage find. It was either her grandmother's or her mother's dress. Beautiful, isn't it? I wore this dress to Ashley and Darek's wedding rehearsal and dinner this past Friday night. I think that it was a perfect occasion to wear this little get-up. The dress is made of soft red silk with a satin center...

Meeting the Bean

On Sunday, I high jacked Ashley's car and ventured into the city. I was on a tight schedule seeing as I had just dropped my aunt and her man off at the Midway Airport and had to be back to catch my own flight at O'Hare less than 2 hours later. I was dying all weekend to go see "The Bean". I knew that it was now or never (or at least for a few more years) and drove into the city from the suburbs quickly. (Had to snap a quick picture of this! Cotton candy vendors on the streets!)...

Back from the Windy City

I'm back! My trip to Chicago was beyond busy, filled with fun new memories, new friends, my wonderful family, and some new extended family members. I'm so glad to be back in warm(er) Maryland. The sun is shining, there isn't any snow, and my bed was very warm and comfortable last night. (Aren't airplane pictures the best?! Chicago & Lake Michigan.) My cousin, Ashley's, Polish wedding was a blast! I think I'm still in culture shock, though... Ash married into a polish family and is now Mrs. Darek Mucek. The entire wedding was beautiful and I am excited to...
